ODESSA, MARCH 20th, 2015, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — The Head of State Enterprise “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority” Andriy Amelin has said that before the creation of a free economic zone for all Odessa it is needed a pilot project, for example, at “irrigation fields”, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Andriy Amelin noted today, March 20, during a press conference: “The results of the SE “USPA” in 2014 and plans for 2015”.

“It is needed to run a couple of pilot projects. For example, a project in irrigation fields. There is proposed to expand the range of 100 acres of SEZ... It is necessary to take this project to explore and see how it works.

Today, the question of free economic zones politicized... We have the experience, when run free economic zones — if in Odessa and Reni they worked, in other regions – they worked simply for contraband, spoiling the whole idea. In general, made “as always” ... Of course, this issue has political overtones. There are “pros” and “cons”, and it will complicate its progress. Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Economy will have its position in this matter,” Mr Amelin noted.
