Power of Odessa grain terminal is planned to expand to 190 thousand tons due to investors

ODESSA, DECEMBER 22nd, 2015, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Investment companies are planning to expand the capacity of the grain terminal in the port of Odessa to 190 thousand tons, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Director of “ANK. Business lawyers” Maxim Karpenko, who provides legal support for the project, noted today, 22 December.

According to him, December 11, Odessa Regional State Administration signed a long-term land lease agreements with the companies “Olimpex Coupe International” and “Metalsukraine Corp. Ltd.”. Land was leased to port operators for investment projects implementation.

Thus, the company “Olimpex Coupe International”, which got 5.21 hectares of land on the Quarantine Mole of Odessa port up to 2025, plans to expand the existing port grain terminal by building new 12 silos, two stations for unloading of vehicles and transport gallery. It will increase the capacity of the terminal up to 190 thousand tons, and create up to 100 new jobs. The project is financed in part by a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as well as at the investor own expense.

The company “Metalsukraine Corp. Ltd.”, which got 4.46 hectares of land in the rear moorings ¹7 and ¹8 of the port of Odessa until 2038, plans to build a modern port grain terminal with capacity of 70 thousand tons of storage, which would include silos, receiving station for railway wagons, transport gallery and ship loaders. The partner of “Metalsukraine Corp. Ltd.” will be the SE “Administration of Sea Ports of Ukraine”, which has declared its readiness to carry out reconstruction and repair quay ¹7 and perform dredging. A part of the necessary funds has been already provided for in the ASPU’s financial plan for 2016.
