Agreement on the planned foreign investment in the grain terminal of Yuzhny port signed

ODESSA, FEBRUARY 24th, 2016, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Today, February 24, at the Government House an agreement between the Cargill Company and the MV Cargo Company on the planned foreign investment in the construction of a grain terminal in the “Yuzhny” Commercial Sea Port has been signed, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of the Department of Information and Communication of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine reported today, February 24.

According to the department, the agreement between the Cargill Company and the MB Cargo Company on the planned foreign investment in the construction of a grain terminal in the “Yuzhny” Commercial Sea Port was signed by CEO of Cargill Martin Schuldt and CEO of MV Cargo Company Andriy Stavnitser.

The signing ceremony was also attended by Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Andriy Pivovarskiy, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Oleksiy Pavlenko, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Ukraine Jeffrey Payette.

Commenting on the signing of the document, Mr Yatsenyuk said: “The agreement of the planned investment by the American company Cargill into the construction of a grain terminal in the port of “Yuzhny” is additional work places, an additional export potential of Ukraine and further evidence of a real partnership between Ukraine and the USA.

The Prime Minister reminded that seven months ago in Washington held the first investment conference Ukraine — the United States. As a result of which one of the world's largest companies — the American company Cargill — agreed to invest into the construction of a new grain terminal in the port of “Yuzhny” USD 100 million.
