The 48th General Assembly «MedCruise» Association opens tomorrow in Odessa

ODESSA, 21 JUNE 2016, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie — Tomorrow, on June 22, in Odessa starts to work the 48th General Assembly of the international Association of cruise ports «MedCruise», the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

Agency was informed about it today, on June 21, by the press service of the Odessa Sea Port.

According to the press service, in particular, at the opening of the General Assembly MedCruise, tomorrow, June 22, at the hotel «Bristol» will hold a briefing with the participation of Head of the Administration of the Odessa seaport Mikhail Sokolov, President of the Association «Medcruise» Christian Pavic, Director of the Department of culture and tourism of Odessa City Council Tatiana Markova, Head of the sector of investments in the tourism of Department of «Agency for investment and development» of the Odessa Regional State Administration Roman Kozlowski.

As IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reported, at the General Assembly of Medcruise, which will be held on 22-25 June, more than 100 participants of the leading cruise ports in the world are expected at Odessa.

In addition to the representatives of ports, their participation confirmed delegates from all the cruise lines which have canceled their previously calling at Ukrainian ports. Among them are such companies as SilverSea cruises, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Holland America Group, MSC Crociere, Azamara Cruises, Costa Crociere, Pullmantur Cruises, as well as 5 international cruise media that have already carried out a systematic, massive advertising campaign of our ports and cities abroad.

The traditional format of the upcoming General Assembly: plenary sessions, discussions in certain areas of the negotiations in the «B2B» format (cruise ports and cruise operators), seminars, elaboration and adoption of the final declaration of the key issues on the agenda.

REFERENCE: Association of cruise ports of the Mediterranean sea MedCruise was founded in 1996. Today it is the world's largest Association of ports, shipping companies, tour operators and other organizations working in the cruise ship industry. It unites more than 100 ports in the Mediterranean, Black and Red seas, Near the Atlantic, and 35 international companies — total 104 members. The port of Odessa resumed its membership in the Association in 2008 and from 2011, Odessa sea Port is a part of the Board of Directors of this organization.
