Odessa, 04 AUGUST 2016, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie -- In January-July the total turnover of stevedoring companies operating on the territory of Belgorod-Dniester sea port amounted to 318 thousand tons, the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

It was reported to the agency today, August 4, in a press-service of the SE «Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority».

The press-service reported that according to operational data, the total cargo turnover at the port for January-June amounted to 318 thousand tons, which is 32% lower than the same period in 2015, when the turnover amounted to 467,46 thousand tons.

The main cargoes for this period were timber, the port handled 285,25 thousand tons of them.

Processed as well 14,76 thousand tons of ferrous metals, 3.05 thousand tons of grain and 2 thousand tons of building materials.

REFERENCE: The Belgorod-Dniester port founded in 1971. Located in the South-Western part of Odessa region, 20 km from the Black sea on the right shore of the Dniester estuary, having a length of 42 km and width of 4.5 to 12 km and connected by a straits with the Black sea. The vessels approach to the port is along the sea channel with a length of 2.22 km and Liman channel length of 14.5 km. Depth of the approach channel is 4.5 m.
