Odessa, 18 AUGUST 2016, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie -- The administration of the sea port «Yuzhny» held exercises to eliminate ammonia spills, the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

It was reported to the agency today, August 18, in the press service of the administration of the sea port «Yuzhny».

According to the press service, the administration of the sea port «Yuzhny» held exercises on liquidation of emergency situation that could arise as a result of the release (spill) chemically hazardous substances. The exercises were held in accordance with the order of the head of administration of the sea port «Yuzhny» on the introduction of the pilot program «Blue envelopes» for testing the different parameters «When loading the vessel with ammonia on the 3rd berth, occurred ammonia emissions into the atmosphere».

During the training were practiced actions of members of commissions for emergency and evacuation, as well as practical skills of the administration staff, the readiness of staff and equipment to the organized evacuation by vehicles.

Upon completion of the practice exercises with the employees of the administration reviewed the procedure for evacuation in case of an accident with emission of ammonia, symptoms of ammonia poisoning and the use of personal protective equipment.
