ODESSA, 5 SEPTEMBER 2016, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie — In fact of the night event on the Turkish ship at the coast of Odessa opened criminal proceedings under part 3 of article 278 (hijacking or seizure of the ship's marine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

It was reported to the agency today, September 5, in the press service of the SBU.

According to the press center, September 4, from the vessel, which went under the flag of Turkey with a cargo of metal from Nikolaev to Jordan, received a signal SOS.

According to preliminary information, around midnight, two members of the crew on board made a fight and stabbed four colleagues. Three of the wounded are in a condition of moderate severity. Then the attackers de-energize the ship and took hostage five people. Part of the crew barricaded, hiding from the attackers.

After an emergency meeting of the anti-terrorist headquarters of the SBU in the Odessa region, which was also attended by representatives of border guards, police, and administration of the «Yuzhny» port, it was decided to force the release of the captured crew.

As a result of the successful storming of the Turkish ship, employees of the special division «Alpha» freed hostages and arrested the criminals.

To theTurkish sailors who received stab wounds, first aid is provided.

Police opened criminal proceedings under Part. 3 of article 278 (hijacking or seizure of the ship's marine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
