Odessa, 7 SEPTEMBER 2016, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie — In January-August the total turnover of the companies operating on the territory of Ust-Danube seaport totaled 18.5 thousand tons, the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

It was reported to the agency today, September 7, in a press-service of the SE «Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority».

In a press-service reported that according to operational data, the total cargo turnover at the port in January-August amounted to 18.5 thousand tons, which is 83.2 % more than in the same period of 2015, when the turnover amounted to 10.1 thousand tons.

Liquid cargo handled during this period, 7.8 thousand tons (709.1% to January-August 2015); bulk dry cargo (grain) — 10.7 thousand tons (118.9%).

REFERENCE: Ust-Danube port is located in the southern part of Zhebriyansky Bay of the Black sea. The port was created in the late 1970's, primarily to service the LASH transportation system.

Today, the port specializes in transshipment of goods from ships on the river for further transport on the Danube, and vice versa.

The total area of the port area — 15 hectares, water area — 60 hectares. Marine approach canal to the port of Ust-Danube has a length of 7 km and leads to three anchorage for large vessels where the working depth is now lost.
