USPA until November 10 to agree timetable of ferries on the route «New Silk Road»

Odessa, 07 NOVEMBER 2016, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie — Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority has until 10 November to agree on timetable of ferries on the route «New Silk Road» and their handling in the STP «Chernomorsk», the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

According to the press service of USPA referring to the Ministry of Infrastructure, the agreement was reached during the meeting on the issues of efficient organization of freight traffic on the route «New Silk Road».

Meeting held on 4 November under the chairmanship of the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine on European Integration Victor Dovgan. Also in the meeting was attended by representatives of the structural subdivisions of the Ministry of Infrastructure, State Enterprise «Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority», STP «Chernomorsk», JSC «Ukrainian Railways», LLC «Ukrferry», JSC «shipping company «Bulgarian Maritime Fleet» (BMF), the Association of International Road transporters and representatives of exporters.

During the meeting, it was made the exchange of information about the cars and trucks waiting to be sent in the ports of Ukraine in the direction of Asia and the East.

The detailed analysis of the work of the STP «Chernomorsk» and USPA for the processing of ferries carrying out this type of transportation. So, participants noted the need to agree a clear schedule of the ferries in collaboration with the handling of ships at the port. Agreed that until November 10, USPA coordinates the timetable of the ferries SC «Ukrferry» and BMF, as well as the schedule of their treatment in the STP «Chernomorsk» and will publish this information on its website for the effective planning of activities of the interested owners.

Considerable attention is paid to the development of competitive pricing policy for the provision of transport services for carriage on the specified routes.

Representatives of the Ministry provides information on the state of preparation of the Methodology for collection of port dues in the ports of Ukraine. The meeting noted the need for clear and transparent mechanism for the formation of the cost of such transportation. Decided to 30 November to publish on the website of the Ministry of Infrastructure proposals in the methodology of calculation of recovery of port dues in seaports of Ukraine, including when performing transit through the territory of Ukraine.

Following the meeting, transporters and exporters agreed to develop a roadmap for the development of transportation in the direction Baltic sea — Black sea — Caspian sea, a discussion which is scheduled on November 22 in the consultations on the organization of cargo transportation in combined regions of the Baltic, Black and Caspian seas.

As reported IA «Context-Prichernomorie» earlier in SE SPT «Chernomorsk» said about trying one of the operators of ferry lines to disrupt the reconstruction project of «New Silk Road» in connection with the transfer of the ferries for service in Illichevsk fishport. The company «Ukrferry», in turn, conferred on the STP «Chernomorsk» the blame for the inconsistency of reception of ferries under handling, which, according to the operator, and became a reason for leaving one of the ferry lines to fishport.
