Odessa, 23 JANUARY 2017, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie — For the 12 months in 2016 regional branch «Odessa railway» JSC «Ukrzaliznytsya» loaded 31.3 million tons of cargo, the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

It was reported to the agency today, January 23, in the press-service of the regional branch «Odesa railway».

According to the press centre, for the year 2016, in the regional branch «Odessa railway» JSC «Ukrzaliznytsya» was loaded 31.3 million tons of cargo (517 thousand 293 cars), which is 1.6 million tons (37 thousand 897 cars) more than in 2015. The average daily loading amounted to 854 thousand tons (14 thousand cars).

The largest share in the load of the railway (23.7%) were grain — 7 million 253 thousand tons (2 million 93 thousand tons more than in the previous year). Also a significant part of the total load consisted of the following goods: cake — 914 thousand 746 tons (2.9 %), oil — 879 thousand 508 tons (3.2%), foodstuffs — 755 thousand 775 tons (2.4%), scrap — 396 thousand 276 tons (1.3%) etc.

The average weight of a freight train was 3 thousand 375 tons. Average technical speed of 45.2 km/h. Turnover of freight cars made up 3.59 days, the turnover of the local car — 2.58 days.

«Odessa railroad have fully met all obligations to its clients and timely supply of rolling stock to shippers in accordance with pre-accepted applications. The volume of cargo exceeds indicators of last year», — noted in the press center.
