Odessa, 27 JANUARY 2017, CONTEXT-Prichernomorie — In Odessa, Nikolaev regions and in the north-western part of the Black Sea are the exercises of forces and troops of the Naval Forces of Ukraine, the correspondent of IA «Context-Prichernomorie» reports.

It was reported to the agency today, January 27, in the press center of the Command of the Naval Forces of Ukraine.

According to the press center, the exercises involved ships, boats and naval vessels, aircrafts of naval aviation, auto and armored vehicles. The participants of the maneuvers fulfill the task of strengthening the state border protection to potentially endangered areas, as well as of important state objects; taking control of the main transport communications, provision of anti-sabotage defense, and the like. The aim is also to deepen interaction with local authorities and population, to demonstrate the combat capabilities of the units.

Ship structure holds tactical exercise on conducting mine action barrage, on the organization of universal defense of the ship, the defeat surface targets.

Marines carried out in a short time many kilometers march in a combined way in the direction of the central and southern areas of the Odessa region, and then immediately began to perform tasks — strengthening the protection of one of the bridges and other important sites, patrolling transport communications, conducting reconnaissance and search operations.

In addition, the military conducted patriotic activities. So, in the city of Belgorod-Dniester on the territory of a military unit, the Marines showed local residents and a group of school-age youth arms, weapons and military equipment, as well as the combat capabilities of units, in particular the Marine Corps activities in the city, steps of crew of 120mm mortar, a first aid when injured, de-mining in the town, and the like.
