KHERSON, SEPTEMBER, 16TH, 2008, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Service of highways in the Kherson region has opened traffic on a new highway in the extent of 4.0 km from a highway of Berislav — Maryansky to village Zmievka of Berislavsky district on September, 15th, 2008, IA “Context-Prichernomorie” correspondent reports.

The agency was informed about this by the regional state administration press-service.

As they say in the message, the highway is constructed, according to the governmental power of attorney, to the state visit of the King of Sweden Carl XVI Gustaf to Ukraine taking place on September, 30th — on October, 3rd, 2008.

The highway has the status of local value Т-04-03 (Maryansky-Berislav to a/d Р-47) with an extent of 4.0 km (a new direction).

Road building has begun in May, 2008, building cost — 18.485 million UAH.

Chairman of Public service of highways of Ukraine Vadim Gurzhos, head of the Kherson regional state administration Boris Silenkov, Honorable consul of Kingdom Sweden and general director of Joint-Stock Company «Chumak» Carl Sturen have taken part in solemn meeting on the occasion of opening traffic on a new highway in the city of Kakhovka, the Kherson region.

As IA “Context-Prichernomorie” informed earlier, the King of Sweden Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia are set to visit the Kherson region, with a state visit to meet the authorities on September, 30th — October, 3rd.

During the visit, a number of joint actions with participation of the king of Sweden and President Victor Yushchenko is planned; the royal couple will visit the Swedes living in Zmievka who speak the Swedish language of a XVIII-th century, their ancestors have moved to Ukraine from one of the Swedish islands.
