The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine has made an official refutation of the information widespread in some mass-media that Yulia Timoshenko’s son-in-law Sean Karr has beaten employees of law enforcement bodies in Odessa.

The Department of public relations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, states: «this message mismatches the truth and is politically engaged».

«We inform, that according to the preliminary results of service investigation which is being carried out on the fact of the incident and on conclusion of the judicial medical investigation it became known that military men of internal armies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, have exceeded their service powers and have applied rough physical strength to Sean Karr and Eugenia Timoshenko without any motivation, have inflicted physical injuries to them and provoked the conflict. Such unprofessional actions caused a considerable public resonance and politized this event», — is said in the communique.

«The corresponding decision will be accepted in accordance with the results of service investigation», — was noted in the Department.

As informed on Saturday there were messages in a number of mass-media that S. Karr has beaten in Odessa two internal troops men who protected Lanzheron beach entrance from the Shevchenko park side. According to these messages, incident has occured on June, 20th, at 22.15. Yulia Timoshenko’s daughter Eugenie and S. Karr tried to enter the beach on a motorcycle. But the road to the sea has been blocked by a barrier as entrance of transport on a health line is forbidden. When internal troops men have refused to open barrier for S. Karr, the last one has started the fight. According to eyewitnesses, two guys from internal troops were traumatized. Then they twisted S. Karr’s hands and took him to the police station. Militiamen, assistants of the Odessa city Mayor Vakhtang Ubiriya and Mikhail Kuchuk and also some deputies of the Odessa city council, one of which was Georgy Selyanin have arrived on a place of the incident.

After some time when Eugenie and S. Karr have got to the station, the light in a building was switched off and at 00:15 the station has been closed. «Gazelle» has driven off from it on the high speed with an inscription «Militia» and «Gazelle» with numbers of the State guard of Ukraine has made its way to the first «Gazelle». Nearly at 00:30 S. Karr was taken away from militia on «Gazelle» from the Odessa Delphinarium.
