Harvesting campaign-2008 is completed in the Odessa region — as of August, 6th total gathering of early grain and leguminous cultures makes 3 million 400 thousand tons.

Chief of Central administrative board of agroindustrial development of the Odessa regional state administration Anatoly Novakovsky has noted that «a very good result» is got.

Odessa region has collected more than 3 million tons of grain for only 9 times.

Productivity of grain has made 31.8 centners from a hectare. The greatest productivity in the region belongs to Kodymsky (on the average – 38.8 centners from a hectare), Kiliya (36.7 centners from a hectare), Krasnooknyansky (34.9 centners from a hectare) and Ovidiopol (34.6) districts. The lowest productivity was fixed in Frunzovsky and Razdelnyaysky regions.

«Some farms of the region have threshed 50 centners from a hectare. For example, Limited Liability Company «Avant guarde-D» of Ovodiopol district has threshed 53.3 centners from a hectare, agricultural production «Kolos» of Krasnooknyansky district – 49.8 centners, «Voronovskoe» of Kominternovsky district – 48.4 centners, Limited Liability Company Agroservis» of Ananievsky district – 47.9 centners», — chief of Central administrative board has added.

«Collected crop enables completely to provide needs of the region in seeds, food grain, grain forage, to pay off the rent for the ground and to realize more than 1.5 million tons of grain in the market», — A. Novakovsky has emphasized.
