General Secretary of the UEFA inspects Odesa
16:23 / 04.02.2009

4 February, 2009 General Secretary of the UEFA David Taylor stated in preparation to host UERO 2012 the most important object in Odesa is the football stadium itself, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

David Taylor made such an announcement during his briefing in Odesa International Airport.

Mr. Taylor stated: “… time is very short. We are visiting 5 cities in Ukraine in 3 days so it’s a very tight programme. It is important for myself and the team from ua who are here to see for themselves the progress in each and every one of the cities. I must emphasize we have recently been to Donetsk, so we know what is happening there”.

“The most important thing of course in Odesa is the football stadium itself. And we visited the stadium and we had presentations and we we’ve seen the building works in place and there is still quite a lot to do. But Odesa is certainly a very interesting place, a very touristy place which has many attractions for fans coming from Europe. And the commitment from the politicians from the government is clearly very strong”, — UEFA General Secretary remarked.

“But I have to say that all of the cities in Ukraine have shown how enthusiastic the country is to host this tournament. And now we must go to Lviv”, — he finished.
