ODESSA, APRIL, 10TH, 2008, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — State administration of Ukraine railway transportation («Ukrzaliznytsya») plans to launch high-speed trains which will connect Odessa with Kiev by the Europe football championship of 2012, “Context-Prichernomorie” correspondent reports.

The agency was informed about this today, on April, 10th, by «Ukrzaliznytsya» press-service.

As it was noted in the press-service, «Ukrzaliznytsja» has already defined the basic preparation directions of Ukraine railway transportation during carrying out of Europe football championship of 2012 in Ukraine. In particular, the priority task is introduction of high-speed traffic of passenger trains (speed — up to 200 km/hours) which will connect capital with other cities hosting Euro-2012, in particular, Odessa.

Division of passenger and cargo movement in basic directions is stipulated for realization of the project. Also the special passenger rolling stock will be purchased; special depot and new rolling stock maintenance service points shall be constructed.

Besides, system of booking and railway tickets sale via the Internet is also planned to be introduced by railways of Ukraine for passengers’ service improvement.
