KHERSON, APRIL, 12TH, 2008, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — From April, 9 till April, 13th, 2008 Trabzon Commercial and industrial Chamber delegation headed by the Chamber President mister Shadan Eren works in Kherson within the framework of long cooperation between the Kherson Commercial and industrial Chamber (CIC) and Commercial and industrial Chamber of Trabzon (Turkey) “Context-Prichernomorie” correspondent reports.

The business meeting of Kherson region businessmen with representatives Trabzon CIC took place in a conference hall of Kherson CIC on Thursday, on April, 10th.

INFORMATION: Trabzon is an administrative centre of Turkish vilayet Trabzon in Asia Minor, the second important trading item of the Asian Turkey which is at southern coast of the Black sea. Trabzon remained the important point of the «Great silk way» for a long time, and today the city will play the important role in a political, economic, cultural and religious life of the country. Since 1990 by the decision of the Turkish Republic government seaport Trabzon has been opened among other Black Sea ports for trade and passenger transportations. Carrying capacity of Trabzon seaport makes nearly 4.5 million t of cargoes in a year.

The region vilayet Trabzon is rich in copper, zinc and lead deposits. By geologists’ estimations, there are about 150 deposits of different minerals, including silver and gold in region.

The main agricultural crops of Trabzon are tea, tobacco, the wood nut (filbert), grown also for export.

Corn, potato, vegetables and fruits are also grown in territory of vilayet.

The animal industry is mainly presented by sheep breeding.
