MYKOLAIV, DECEMBER, 25th, 2008, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – Hull of a container ship (project CF 3850 construction No 9410) was laid in the main bay, yard No18 in the area of the flow-positioning production of Joint-Stock Holding Company “Chernomorsky Shipbuilding Yard”, IA Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Press-service of Joint-Stock Holding Company “Chernomorsky Shipbuilding Yard” announced it today, on December, 25th, 2008.

This is the second hull out of series of ships for Damen Shipyards Bergum whose construction is being performed at the enterprise.

All in all 4 multipurpose vessels are contracted with deadweight 3,8 thousand tons each. Solemn keel-laying ceremony of the first multipurpose ship took place in the area of the flow-positioning production of Joint-Stock Holding Company “Chernomorsky Shipbuilding Yard” on May, 22nd, 2008. Mr. Remko Bouma, Representative of the Customer was present among the guests at the ceremony.

Due to financial economic crisis Chernomorsky Shipbuilding Yard stopped their work on these orders in October. However the administration of the enterprises together with the representatives of the client managed to come to an agreement about keel-laying of the second multipurpose ship, whose initial section was in a high degree of product availability.

The shipyard’s staff hope financial schemes to renew the construction of the vessels for Damen Shipyards Bergum will soon be found.
