MYKOLAIV, JANUARY, 29th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICERNOMORIE – Solemn opening of European Information Center took place in Mykolaiv Oblast Universal Scientific Library, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency was informed about it at Mykolaiv Oblast organization of National Union of journalists of Ukraine today, on 29 January, 2009.

The initiators were National Union of Journalists of Ukraine and Mykolaiv Oblast Universal Scientific Library.

The project is financially supported by the International Renaissance Foundation within the State Target Program for informing people on European integration of Ukraine.

According to Mr. Nikolay Stetsenko – Head of Mykolaiv Oblast organization of National Union of journalists of Ukraine, Editor of “Yuzhnaya Pravda” paper, this center will give any citizen of Mykolaiv an opportunity to get all the necessary information on foreign policy and European integration. And journalists will be able to get access to electronic data bases on functioning of European Union institutes and bring their knowledge to the public.

There are comfortable working places in the center, internet connection, scanner and operating consultant who will help in search for the information wanted. In addition internet access and access to all the available resources is free.

Conducting information seminars, round tables, and conferences is also in the plans of the center.

Anyone who likes may visit the center from Monday till Thursday at 10:00 – 18:00 and on Saturdays and Sundays at 10:00 – 17:00.
