MYKOLAIV, MARCH, 23rd, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – According to the law enforcement bodies, the level of crimes in Mykolaiv oblast fell by 15,8 percent in January – February 2009 as compared with the same period of 2008, counting 2 thousand 14 registered crimes.

Today, 23 March, the agency was informed about it at the Committee of Statistics of Ukraine in Mykolaiv Oblast.

33,2 percent of crimes from the total amount are grave and especially grave.

The number of the aggrieved is 941 people – 176 women, 20 pensioners, and 64 underage children.

Out of the total amount of people (1150) who committed crimes, 87 percent were brought criminal action against; 15,3 percent were involved in group crimes; 13,8 percent had previously did criminal acts; 26,4 percent of them have expunged previous convictions, 9,7 had alcohol intoxication. Every ninth of them is a woman, 6 percent – underage children.
