MYKOLAIV, MARCH, 27th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNMORIE – The Day of Independence of Greece will be celebrated in Mykolaiv 29 March at the Palace of Teachers, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.
The press-service of Mykolaiv Oblast State Administration informed the agency about it today, 27 March.
Consul General of Greece to Odesa Yerassimos Davaris invited a delegation from Mykolaiv to participate in celebration of the Greek Independence Day.
The delegation included officers of the Department for Nationalities at Mykolaiv Oblast State Administration, Administration for Foreign Economy, National Historic reserve Olbia and Representatives of Mykolaiv Oblast Greek Community “New Hellas”.
Consul General of Greece to Odesa Yerassimos Davaris expressed his wish to visit the Oblast in the near future and meet with original Greeks there.
During the conversation of the envoy with the delegation Mykolaiv Greek National Community’s operation was discussed. It has recently become headed by Alexandr Mospanenko.
Head of the Department for Nationalities at Mykolaiv Oblast State Administration Yelena Ivashko congratulated Mr. Davaris on behalf of Mykolaiv Governor, Alexey Garkusha.
Consul General of Greece to Odesa Yerassimos Davaris thanked the Oblast’s authorities for saving cultural destiny of Greece in the region and said he hoped the cooperation between the Oblast Administration and Greek Consulate will go on.
