Mykolaiv Merchant Sea Port receives 10 hectares of extra territory

MYKOLAIV, APRIL, 25th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – Mykolaiv Merchant Sea Port will be given 10 hectares of additional territory, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Minister of Transport and Communications of Ukraine, Yospyp Vinskyi reported it yesterday, 24 April, during his press-conference in the port.

The port will be extended in south direction, Vasiliy Kapatsyna, Head of the Port informed. In the direction of Zheleznodorozhna Street, to be more exact.

Mr. Vinskyi also informed the best pieces of land are in private property at present. This is not right. Mr. Minister intends to change the situation significantly.

INFORMATION: Mykolaiv Merchant Sea Port was founded in 1862. The company specializes in trans-shipment of export and transit cargoes. The territory of the port occupies 94 hectares. The general extent of the moorings makes 2 thousand 920 m, length of a railroad tracks — about 25 km. Mechanization structure includes 133 units of technics. Port staff includes nearby 2 thousand 700 people.
