Refrigerating terminal opened in the port of Mykolaiv

MYKOLAIV, APRIL, 25th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – Yesterday, 24 April, a solemn opening of a new refrigerating terminal was taking place in Mykolaiv Merchant Sea Port, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Among the guests present at the opening were: Minister of Transport and Communications of Ukraine, Yosyp Vinskyi, Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Norway to Ukraine, Olav Berstad.

“This is as far as I know the most modern terminal of this type”, — Mr. Vinskyi said.

The investors of the project are the firm “Sea Food” (Ukraine), “Atlantic pelagis AS” (Norway). The volume of the investment into the construction made 12 million USD.

The volumes of the goods stored in the terminal make 12 thousand tons. Temperature conditions reach 26 degrees below zero. The capacity of a square metre makes 10 tons.

The terminal has the status of a customs-licensing warehouse providing a wide range of services – cargo operations, agenting and forwarding, customs clearing, brokerage, insurance, assigning of the cargoes by the releases of the suppliers, sorting and packing the cargoes.

INFORMATION: Mykolaiv Merchant Sea Port was founded in 1862. The company specializes in trans-shipment of export and transit cargoes. The territory of the port occupies 94 hectares. The general extent of the moorings makes 2 thousand 920 m, length of a railroad tracks — about 25 km. Mechanization structure includes 133 units of technics. Port staff includes nearby 2 thousand 700 people.
