MYKOLAIV, MAY, 15th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – Mykolaiv Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual Association ‘Liga’ intends to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights for the Raion Court of Mykolaiv forbade them to hold a massive public event in the city, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Oleg Alekhin, President of the Mykolaiv Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual Association ‘Liga’ informed the agency about it today, 15 May.

According to Mr. Alekhin, the organization also intends to address Odesa Court of Appeals.

At the same time, Mr. Alekhin informed the court had not forbidden to hold the festival, it had only banned the events planned to be held in public places. The events will take place in closed areas.

The plan of events includes: a race, female football match, poetry party, photo-exhibition, travesty show, and flash-mob.
