ODESA, MAY, 15th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Vice-Mayor of Odesa, Mikhail Kuchuk, stated UEFA’s decision made 13 May would in no way impact realization of the projects being prepared for EURO 2012 Championship, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Mr. Kuchuk stated it today, 15 May at his press-conference.

“Odesa was not supposed to get any funds within the EURO 2012 Preparation Programme adopted by the Cabinet. All that was being done in Odesa would keep being done at the expense of the city budget and investors. All the works on North-South highway, reconstruction of roads, building of the stadium, concerning hotels, and all our infrastructure projects are not financed from the State Budget. So UEFA’s decision will not influence the works held in Odesa”, — Mikhail Kuchuk said.

As Context-Prichernomorie reported before, 3 May in Bucharest President of European Football Union, Michel Platini announced UEFA’s decision saying Odesa was not included into the list of host-cities of EURO 2012 Football Championship. According to a number of media, Platini declared the final decision of the UEFA is as follows: the cities of Ukraine and Poland divided 4x4. Ukrainian host-cities will be: Kyiv, Lviv, Donetsk, and Kharkiv.
