MYKOLAIV, MAY, 28th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Africa to Ukraine, H.E. Mr. Andries Venter came to Mykolaiv with a get-to-know visit, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.
The agency was informed about it today, 28 May, at the press-service of the City Executive Committee.
During the meeting with Deputy Mayor, Tatiana Yablonovskaya, he stated the aim of his visit was to examine the possibilities of cooperation between the RSA and Ukraine in trade, industry, agriculture, tourism, and other interesting for both parties spheres.
According to the envoy, “The SAR mostly imports heavy industry products and exports plenty of products, but very little to Ukraine. In particular, through Mykolaiv Merchant Sea Port we supply fruit, manganese for the production of ferrous alloys and through third countries – wine. The SAR is much interested in Mykolaiv’s production capacities, in direct connection to Mykolaiv (Mykolaiv – Cape Town) without transhipment the ports of the Mediterranean. But to settle such direct communication we need large trade parties for complete load of ships. It means we should set up business ties.”
