MYKOLAIV, JUNE, 9th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – Today in the morning, 9 June, the Party of Regions and the Progressive Socialists picketed a seminar on the NATO integration taking place in Mykolaiv Oblast Institute for Postgraduate Pedagogic Education, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The picket was taking place under the flags of the Party of Regions and the Progressive Socialistic Party. The slogans were saying: “NATO is worth than Gestapo”, “NO NATO”, “The Youth against the NATO”, and other.

The interactive seminar “Broadening of the Idea of NATO Integration by Means of Social Diplomacy: Regional Dimension” was organized be the Institute for Postgraduate Pedagogic Education with the support of the NATO Centre for Information and Documentation.

The seminar had several aims: to explain the role of social diplomacy in spreading the ideas of NATO integration in Ukraine taking into account the experience of the new NATO member-countries; to define the ways and mechanisms of forming trust to the NATO by means of non-political methods, and to work out the contra-arguments to those political forces that object to Ukraine’s joining the NATO.
