MYKOLAIV, AUGUST, 20th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – Within 7 months of this year the total volume of agricultural production in Mykolaiv Oblast grew by 5 percent compared to the same period in 2008, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency was informed about it today, 20 August at the State Committee of Statistics in Mykolaiv Oblast.

The sales volume of agricultural products went 2,4 times up, including crop production – 2,8 times, animal produce – by 8,6 percent. The average prices for agricultural products were 24,7 percent reduced, including crop production – 27,7 percent, animal produce – by 1,5 percent.

As of 1 August, 2009 there were 1 million 464 thousand 400 tons of grain available both at production and storage enterprises (6,4 percent more than of 1 August 2008), including 732 thousand 700 tons of wheat (18,7 percent less). The stock of sunflower made 25 thousand 300 tons, out of this amount 19 thousand 200 tones were available particularly at the production enterprises, 6 thousand 100 at the enterprises carrying out storage and operation.
