ODESA, SEPTEMBER, 11th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – GE Commercial Sea Port of Odesa has been awarded Investors In People international quality certificate today, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Investors In People Ukraine Coordinator Olga Revina handed the Certificate to Head of the port Nikolay Pavlyuk.

The Port of Odesa has been the first state owned enterprise in Ukraine to have decided on hanging their personnel management system, so they have been the first to receive the Certificate as well.

According to Mrs. Revina, an independent expertise was done to find out to what extend the management approaches at the enterprise met the Investors In People standard. The project kept going for 10 months. Its main objective was to improve the personnel management system.

INFORMATION: GE Commercial Sea Port of Odesa is situated in the south-western part of Odesa bay on artificially made territory of 109.5 hectares area. The enterprise’s facilities allow processing more than 14 million tons of dry and 24 million tons of bulk cargo annually. The vessels of the length up to 270 metres and the draught under 13 metres are operated in the port. The total length of the berthage is more than 8 kilometres.
