ODESA, OCTOBER, 7th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – Commercial Sea Port of Yuzhny has exceeded the planned nine-month amount of cargo operations and cargo turnover, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency was informed about it at the press-service of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Ukraine.

According to the source, the cargo turnover through January-September made 13 million 148 thousand tonnes that is 112.8 percent of the planned index.

In the total cargo turnover the share of bulk cargoes was 88 percent, general cargoes – 0.7 percent, and liquid cargoes – 11.7 percent.

The amount of cargo operations 9 million 842 thousand tonnes that 16.3 percent exceeds the plan.

INFORMATION: The Commercial Sea Port of Yuzhny is situated in the North-West area of the Black Sea, on the ice-free Adzhalykskiy Liman and is a cargo operation turnover leader (20 million 698 thousand 600 tons in 2005). Main transportation directions: the Black Sea and the Mediterranean basins, the USA, Latin America, Middle East, South-Eastern Asia. All cargo, storage and auxiliary operations are carried out in the port. There work specialized complexes in the port for operation of mineral fertilizers, liquid chemicals, export overload berths for general and bulk cargoes.
