KHERSON, OCTOBER, 24th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – General Director of the Kherson Shipyard Vasiliy Fedin informed that in spite of the crisis the company keeps fulfilling their upgrade programme, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Mr. Fedin has said it today 24 October at the festive meeting dedicated to the plant’s 58th Anniversary.

“Our plant was being founded in the difficult 1950s, however it became the USSR commercial shipbuilding leader. About 300 vessels were constructed for the clients from all over the world then. In 2009 the plant is taking the leading positions of Ukrainian ship-building industry”, Director stated.

He also informed, several months before the plant purchased Kamak Platform costing EUR 1 million. All the necessary agreements with the contractors have already been signed. The next prospect is the construction of the painting section.

“We are moving forward in spite all the problems, the plant is working”, Mr. Fedin summed up.
