MYKOLAIV, DECEMBER, 8th, 2009, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – A UNO plane landed at Mykolaiv Airport yesterday 7 December having brought 139 peacemakers from Liberia back home, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

This was reported by the press-service of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine today 8 December.

139 peacemakers is the first stage of the regular 12th rotation of the 56th Helicopter Detachment of Ukrainian Military Forces, being on a mission initiated by the UNO in Liberia.

For six months of stay in Liberia Ukrainian militaries spent 2 thousand 190 hours flying and managed to carry over 7 thousand passengers as well as almost 6 hundred tons of cargoes.

This is a significant contribution to support of the peace on the African continent. Another peacemaker staff will leave for Africa today 8 December. The second stage of the 12th rotation is scheduled for 22 December.
