ODESA, FEBRUARY, 9th, 2010, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – In January 2010 Odesa railway has increased cargo transportation rate by 0.9 percent compared to the same period last year, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency was informed about it today 9 February at the press-service of the Ukrainian Railway.

According to their data, in January 2010 railway of Ukraine shipped 761 thousand 500 tons of cargoes, which is 110.9 percent of the last-year amount.

At the same time Odesa Railway increased this index by 0.9 percent.

INFORMATION: Odesa Railway is one of the oldest in Ukraine. Regular transportations started 4 (17) October 1865. The railway line Odesa-Kyiv was established in 1870 and other lines existing in the Russian Empire. The share of Odesa Railway in the total cargo turnover in Ukraine is almost 20 percent and 16 percent of the total passenger flow.
