Black Sea Shipyard lays the second ship for Bue Marine

MYKOLAIV, MARCH, 11th, 2010, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – The second non-self-propelled barge under the project B616 for Bue Marine, Great Britain, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency was informed about it today 11 March at the press-service of the shipyard.

According to them, the vessel was designed to carry bore mud in specially arranged holds. The barge’s length is 71.9 m, wdth – 14.5 m, draft – 2.5 m, deadweight – 1200 tons.

The first barge of the series was floated 30 October 2009.

The project was designed by the project-construction centre of the Black Sea Shipyard in compliance with the regulations of the American Bureau of navigation and all international rules applied to vessels of the type. The main peculiarity of the barge is Macgregor hydraulic folding hatch covers, as well as pile snubbers used to fasten the vessel on shallow water. Both gears are hydraulic.

The barge is of a high ice class. The cargo is discharged ashore via pipes with the help of high-pressure air.
