Another tanker with oil from Venezuela for Belarus discharged in Odesa port

ODESA, AUGUST 3rd, 2010, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE – Oil tanker Minerva Alexandra with oil from Venezuela for Belarus is being discharged in Odesa Commercial Sea Port, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency has been informed about it today 3 August at the press service of the port.

According to their information, today 3 August the discharge operations are to finish at Odesa Commercial Sea Port. The oil is to be delivered on to Mozyr Oil Refinery, Belarus

77 thousand 554 tons of oil were delivered to Odesa by the tanker Minerva Alexandra. The vessel moored at the port on July 31 and the discharge started on August 1. This is the sixth tanker carrying oil to Belarus and the fifth discharged at the Port of Odesa the next tanker is expected to arrive on August 10.

As the Context-Prichernomorie reported earlier, in May 2010 Venezuela started to supply crude oil the first consignment was amounting up to 80 thousand tons, while till the end of the year they were planning to supply up to 4 million tons. The contract was signed on March 17 in Caracas on the negotiations between Presidents Alexander Lukoshenko, Belarus, and Hugo Chávez, Venezuela.

INFORMATION: GE “Odesa Merchant Sea Port” is situated in the south-western part of Odesa bay on artificially made territory of 109.5 hectares area. The enterprise facilities allow to process more than 14 mln t of dry and 24 mln t of bulk cargo annually. The vessels of the length up to 270 m and the draught under 13 m are operated in the port. The total length of the berthage is more than 8 km.
