ODESA, SEPTEMBER 22nd, 2010, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — In the period of January—August 2010 Odesa Railway shipped 17.1 million tons of cargoes, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Chief Administration of Statistics in Odesa Oblast has informed the about it today, 22 September.

According to the Administration, in the period of January—August 2010 Odesa Railway shipped 17 million 100 thousand tons of cargoes, that is 25.1 percent more compared to the same period in 2009.

Significant increase could be observed in main nomenclature groups — coal (6.4 times), ferrous metal (1.5 times), scrap ferrous metal (41%), wood (37.8%), cement (37%), chemical and mineral fertilizers (32.7%).

At the same time, there was decrease in shipments of grain and grinding products.
