MYKOLAIV, NOVEMBER 17th, 2010, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — The newly elected City Council deputies and Mayor of Mykolaiv Volodymyr Chaika have taken the oath of office, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The fist session of the VI Mykolaiv City Council has been held today, 17 November.

89 deputies out of 90 arrived at the session. It was opened by the Head of Mykolaiv City Election Commission Mrs Iryna Kosiakov. Special guests of the event were Head of Tiraspol State Administration Mr Viktor Kostyrko and Consul General of China to Odesa Mrs Wu Xiaoying.

The deputies promised they will respect, secure and defend the rights of the city citizens, and they will not rate their own interests over the interests of community.

Mayor Chaika said he “will serve the community faithfully and follow the Constitution and the Laws of Ukraine, secure the citizens’ rights and fulfil his duties thoroughly.”
