Test adverse oil pumping via Odesa—Brody Pipeline starts

ODESA, NOVEMBER 22nd, 2010, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Delivery of a test shipment of crude along the Brody-Odessa pipeline destined for Belarus' Mozyr refinery has begun, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports

A number of Ukrainian media informed about it today, 22 November, with reference to UkrTransNafta.

The tanker with 80 thousand tons of Russian crude oil arrived at the Yuzhny Commercial Sea Port terminal 17 November. Within the next two days, the oil was discharged to storage facilities cleared through the customs.

Pumping began 20 November. From the Odesa-Brody pipeline, the crude will be delivered through the Druzhba pipeline to the Mozyr refinery.

Another tanker carrying 78,000 tons of crude for Belarus is expected to dock in Ukraine on November 25.

INFORMATION: The Odessa—Brody pipeline (also known as Sarmatia pipeline) is a crude oil pipeline between the Ukrainian cities Odesa at the Black Sea, and Brody near the Ukrainian—Polish border. There are plans to expand the pipeline to Płock, and furthermore to Gdańsk in Poland. The pipeline is operated by UkrTransNafta, Ukraine's state-owned oil pipeline company.
