MYKOLAIV, FEBRUARY 4th, 2011, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — People of Asian origin have held New-Year celebrations in Mykolaiv, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency has been informed about it today, 4 February, at the press office of Mykolaiv City Executive Committee.

The new year of white metallic rabbit was celebrated by holding the I International Cross Forum South Star, it was held in the City Theatre of Russian Drama.

Representatives of national cultural communities of Mykolaiv Oblast and students of Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean and Buryat origin told of their New Year celebrating traditions.

As in the East they celebrate the New Year when morning comes, there was an expo displaying traditional New-Year dishes.

Traditions of eastern countries have much in common. The major thing is positive mood and wishes of goodness and prosperity to all people.

Mayor of Mykolaiv Volodymyr Chaika greeted all the participants.
