For Ukraine there is no danger caused by the disaster at Fukushima-1, Yuzhnoukrainsk nuclear experts say

MYKOLAIV, APRIL 2nd, 2011, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Experts of the Yuzhnoukrainsk Power Plant, Mykolaiv Oblast, say today there is no danger caused by the disaster at the Japanese power plant Fukushima-1, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency has been informed about it today, 2 April, at the press office of the power plant.

Radiation control has been increased in Ukraine since the nuclear disaster caused by tsunami in Japan.

As of today, an increase of concentration of long-lasting nuclides and radio nuclides of Iodine-131 compared to the set up norm. At that, the detected amounts are 1000 lower than the norm for category B (population).

The indices fixed on 30 March 2011 were:

Iodine-131 0.00308 Bq/m² (permissible level 4 Bq/m²).

Caesium-137 0.000357 Bq/m² (permissible level 0.8 Bq/m²).

Caesium-134 0.000262 Bq/m² (permissible level 1 Bq/m²).

Tellurium-132 0.000445 Bq/m² (permissible level 10 Bq/m²).

Ionizing emission remained unchanged.
