Shipbuilding Plant Okean finishing the construction of the lead ship for Nibulon

MYKOLAIV, APRIL 28th, 2011, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Shipbuilding Plant Okean is finishing the construction of the lead ship for Nibulon, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency has been informed about it today, 28 April, at the press service of Nibulon Ltd.

Tug project POSS-115 of Ukrainian design was launched by a Ukrainian grain trader Nibulon, which is working to create its own dry-cargo river and river-sea fleet.

The pusher tug is a single-deck twin-propellor vessel of limited navigation with advanced superstructure and lifting wheelhouse. The size of the vessel is as follows: length 37.2 m, width 11.5 m, depth 2.4 m. DWT 150 tons, gross tonnage 382 tons. Equipment of Japanese, Dutch, German production has been installed on the ship.

The craft is capable of speeds up to 11.5 knots. She has been designed for towage of non-self-propelled ships and trains, pilotage in port areas and berthing, working as a tug.

The number of tugs in the series designed for Nibulon makes 12 units. According to the customer, the construction of the lead ship of the series will be completed later this month.

At present, the fleet of the grain trader has 28 self-propelled vessels with total deadweight of 103 thousand 748 tons and 6 tugs.
