ODESA, MAY 4th, 2011, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — The first Ukrainian nationwide Forum of Young Russian Compatriots “Ukraine and Russia: Together” to be held in Odesa 6 May, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency has been informed about it today, 4 May, at the press service of NGO “Yedinaya Odessa” [United Odesa].

According to the press service, from 3 to 7 May 2011 the first Ukrainian nationwide forum of young Russian compatriots “Ukraine and Russia: Together”.

Five Ukrainian cities will be hosting conferences and round-table meetings dedicated to the issues of cooperation between Ukraine and Russia in political, economic and cultural spheres. During the event, the participants will discuss the common interests of Russia and Ukraine on the world stage, consider the role of public diplomacy in the development of interstate cooperation and will offer new ways to support the friendly relations between Ukraine and Russia.

The purpose of the event is to unite Ukrainian Russian-speaking youth belonging to Russian culture. The participants of the Forum are 150 students from universities in Ukraine, young Russian compatriots living in Ukraine.

Yedinaya Odessa representatives also intend to participate in the forum.
