MYKOLAIV, JULY 11th, 2011, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — XXVI European Motoball Chamionship has started in Voznesensk, Mykolaiv region, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The agency has been informed about it today, 11 July, at the press service of Vozensensk Town Council Executive Committee.

The press service noted that yesterday, July 10, the championship opening ceremony was held in Voznesensk. Welcoming remarks were made by Mayor Yuri Gerzhov, chairman of the International Jury, Charles Fegele, Germany, and chairman of the Motoball Federation Yuriy Yemchenko.

The first game was between the Dutch national team and national team of Ukraine. Ukrainians won 10:4.

Today, July 11, there are teams of Russia and Belarus, Germany and the Netherlands, Ukraine and Belarus playing.

INFORMATION: The first European Motoball Championship was held in 1986. Every year teams from France, the Netherlands, Germany, Belarus, Russia, Ukraine and Lithuania participate in the event. Ukraine hosted the Championship only four times over 26 years of its existence.
