ODESA, AUGUST 30th, 2011, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Athletes of Odesa already won three licenses to participate in XXX Summer Olympics in London, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Today, 30 August, deputy chief of the Office for Physical Culture and Sports, Odesa Regional State Administration, Valentina Kolchak announced during a press conference,.

V. Kolchak noted by, Ekaterina Karsak and Stanislav Melnikov (athletics), Yuriy Cheban (rowing and canoeing) won the licenses.

“Now the Ukrainian Olympic team includes 31 athletes from Odesa, the Ministry sets their hopes on them. But we are confident that 12-13 of our athletes are sure to participate in the Summer Olympics in London. We also have high hopes for Andriy Yagodka (fencing), Olena Khomrova (fencing), Yulia Podolyan (taekwondo), Mykola Milchev (bench shooting), Oleksandr Tkachenko (weightlifting), and other athletes. Unfortunately, of Odesa will not participate in shooting”, said the official.
