Vasyl Lomachenko, Odesa, wins the gold at the World Boxing Championship

ODESA, OCTOBER 10th, 2011, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Vasyl Lomachenko, Odesa, has won the gold at the World Boxing Championship, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press office of the Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sport of Ukraine informed today, 10 October.

According to the press service of the Ukrainian team won four gold and one silver medals, and received a first team place.

Gold medals went to Vasyl Lomachenko (60 kg), Taras Shelestyuk (up to 69 kg), Eugene Shcheglov (74 kg) and Oleksandr Usik (up to 91 kg) Denis Berinchik (64 kg) won the silver.

The second place went to team from Cuba, the third — to Azerbaijan, the fourth — to Russia.

Chairman of the State Service of Youth and Sports Ravil Safiullin has congratulated Ukrainian boxers, calling their action a triumph.

“This was a unique performance of our boxers at the world championships. The Ukrainians avoided their nearest rivals by a wide margin and demonstrated a high level”, he said.
