Tanker Mugan, designed in Odesa, launched in Turkey

ODESA, NOVEMBER 29th, 2011, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Today, 29 November, the Tanker Mugan, designed by Marine Engineering Bureau, Odesa, has been launched at the Beşiktaş Shipyard, Turkey, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press service of Marine Engineering Bureau informed today, 29 November.

The press service noted that the new series of tankers are a logical continuation of Project 005RST01, known as the Armada of the first series, previously designed for the Marine Engineering Bureau for the Group of Companies Palmali. A total of ten vessels have been built under Project 005RST01 and seven — under Project RST22.

The capacity of six cargo tanks and two slop tanks is 8089 cubic metres, deadweight at sea — 7103 m at draft 4.6 m, in the river at 3.60 m — 4706 tons, operation speed — 10.5 knots.

As previously reported, the fifth vessel of RST22M Mugan (building number 16) was laid on 23.12.2009.

INFORMATION: OJSC Marine Engineering Bureau was registered on March, 23rd, 1995 in Odesa, Ukraine. It was founded by a group of scientists of the Shipbuilding Department, Odesa National Maritime University. OJSC Marine Engineering Bureau works out pre-contract classification projects, projects of “conversion”, upgrade and renewal of sea vessels for internal and mixed journeys. They also prepare projects for increasing carrying and container capacities of ships and other related work.
