Direct flights from Mykolaiv now to be available to Munich and Venice starting February 2012

MYKOLAIV, DECEMBER 7th, 2011, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Direct flights from Mykolaiv now will supposedly be available to Munich and Venice starting February 2012, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

Mykolaiv City Executive Committee informed today, 7 December.

According to their information, the prospects for the organization of flights from Mykolaiv International Airport in the countries of the Old Continent were discussed today, 7 December, during a meeting of the Mayor Volodymyr Chayka, Director General Andriy Kiyan, Skytrain Airlines‘s representative Simon Spitz and adviser Ota Strauss .

According to the guests from abroad, this matter today is quite relevant. Since Mykolaiv entrepreneurs often fly to Europe. In addition, there are citizens who need such flights for family reasons — to visit relatives living and working in the neighbouring countries. Despite the fairly stable demand for direct air travel between Europe and Mykolaiv, this issue is still not resolved, experts say. To fly in this direction, Mykolaiv citizens have to use airports of other cities. In general, people departing from airports in the south of Ukraine are facing such problems — sometimes to get to the destination, they have to dock.

Mr Spitz said, at first they are planning to organize direct flights from Mykolaiv to Munich and Venice. The flights will be available regularly — in winter three times a week, in the summer of the same four times a week.
