ODESA, DECEMBER 19th, 2011, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Odesa Vice Governor Petro Khlytsov says the main condition for Odesa to be able to host Eurobasket 2015 matches is construction or reconstruction of a Sports Palace with not less than 8 thousand seats capacity, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The official has informed today during a operational meeting at the Odesa Regional State Administration.

“Yesterday, the country hosting Eurobasket 2015 was determined in Munich, Germany. Ukraine was the winner, and Odesa was among the six cities that would host the tournament. But in Odesa there is one very important condition — construction or reconstruction of a Palace of Sports with not less than 8 thousand seats capacity. Therefore our region faces a serious challenge. But we all hope that we will manage it, and the Eurobasket will be in Odesa in September 2015”, said the official.
