ODESA, DECEMBER 21st, 2011, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Governor of Odesa Region Eduard Matviychuk reported the region is preparing about 30 athletes to participate in the Olympics 2012 in London, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The Governor informed today, 21 December.

“We award athletes getting ready for the Olympic Games in London scholarships from the regional budget. About 30 athletes have an opportunity to prepare for this sporting event at the region’s expense. I am deeply convinced, and I think you will support me in that, for me, for all of us, it is important that a representative of the Odesa region should go to the Olympic podium, to become the winner, the champion of the Olympic Games. That is what we allocate money for, though we are not requiring the money from Kyiv — it’s not an easy time for them either, we earn the money ourselves and spend ourselves”, said Governor.
