ODESA, FEBRUARY 1st, 2012, CONTEXT-PRICHERNOMORIE — Bulgarian Parliament considering assigning EUR 100 thousand for restoration of the Bolhrad cathedral damaged in the blaze, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

According to the press service of Odesa Regional State Administration, Head of the Bolhrad District State Administration Mikhail Sadakliev informed today, 1 February.

“We have received official information that a meeting of the Parliament of Bulgaria addressed the issue of allocation of funds in the amount of EUR 100 thousand for the reconstruction of our cathedral. Our sister city of General Toshevo addressed to this problem: they intend to transfer EUR 10 thousand for the repair of the cathedral”, said the official.

Director of Business Support Foundation Sergiy Moyseenko, in turn, added, “There has been an expanded meeting of Bolhrad businessmen. Each of us is ready to assist: some can offer money, some — building materials, some can provide services. Entrepreneurs can establish boxes for donations in their outlets: people come every day to buy bread and will drop by a few hryvnias. It is also advisable to install the boxes at the Bolhrad market, where Moldovan citizens come at weekends — they also took to heart the tragedy of Bolhrad.”

As reported before, 26 January there was a fire in the Bolhrad Transfiguration Cathedral, as a result 500 square metres of its premises were damaged in the blaze. No one was harmed in the fire.
